What is the Difference Between a Roadworthy and a Pre-Purchase Inspection?
Safety Inspections (Roadworthy Inspections) ensure that the vehicle conforms to basic safety standards set out by Queensland Transport. If the vehicle passes the inspection the seller is then issued with a Queensland Safety Certificate or commonly known as a Roadworthy Certificate.
The seller is required by law to provide this certificate to the buyer at the time of disposal so they can transfer the current registration and ownership of the vehicle into their name. It is not a substitute for a pre-purchase inspection of the vehicle you want to purchase.
