BPC Auto Inspect provides mobile pre-purchase car inspections across suitable Brisbane Northside and Outer Northern Brisbane Suburbs to help private buyers get the facts about the car they’re interested in before they commit to a purchase.

Important: Brisbane CBD and Inner-City Locations
BPC Auto Inspect is a mobile inspection service, but a proper inspection requires sufficient space and safe access around the vehicle.
For this reason, I don’t generally service tightly packed Brisbane CBD and inner-city locations where suitable parking or access isn’t available.
This isn’t simply a travel restriction.
An inspection may require access around the vehicle, engine bay and underbody, diagnostic equipment and, where appropriate, a road test.
If the seller’s location is difficult to access or has restricted parking, contact me before booking.
This helps avoid a situation where an inspection cannot be completed properly because of the location.

What Can a Pre-Purchase Inspection Find?

Identify observable evidence and warning signs present at the time of inspection. Depending on the vehicle, inspection conditions and available information, this may include:
Mechanical Problems
Leaks, abnormal noises, cooling-system concerns, engine issues, transmission concerns and visible mechanical wear.
Suspension, Steering and Brakes
Signs of wear, damage, leakage, abnormal movement or other concerns affecting the vehicle’s handling and braking systems.
Accident Damage
Evidence of previous repairs, inconsistent panel gaps, paint variations, replacement panels or other signs that may indicate previous damage.
Electrical and Diagnostic Problems
Warning lights, electrical faults and diagnostic trouble codes where the vehicle’s systems and diagnostic equipment allow assessment.
Underbody Problems
Visible leaks, corrosion, damage, exhaust problems, suspension components and other accessible underbody concerns.
Maintenance Concerns
Poorly maintained components, missing documentation, overdue maintenance indicators or inconsistencies between the vehicle’s condition and its claimed history.
Pre-Purchase Inspection vs Roadworthy Certificate
A Queensland Safety Certificate (Roadworthy Inspection) is only a basic safety check required by QLD Transport to transfer registration. It does not cover overall mechanical health, wear and tear, or upcoming repair costs, making an independent pre-purchase inspection essential.
A pre-purchase inspection is performed for the buyer, helping assess the vehicle’s overall condition and identify potential mechanical, electrical, body, structural and other concerns before purchase.
A vehicle can have a current safety certificate and still have problems that matter to a buyer. That’s why an independent inspection can be valuable before committing to the purchase. For more information about why an inspection can be worthwhile, view our sample report.
Buying From a Dealer?
A pre-purchase inspection isn’t only for private sales. If you’re considering a vehicle from a dealership, you can still arrange an independent inspection before committing to the purchase. A dealership may have its own inspection or preparation process, but an independent inspection gives you an assessment performed for you, the buyer.
The dealership or seller must provide permission and the vehicle must be accessible in a suitable location. A valid dealer trade plate must be provided, and the vehicle must be in roadworthy condition before the test drive.
Buying From a Private Seller?
Private sellers are one of the most common situations where an independent inspection can be valuable. You may only have a short opportunity to inspect the vehicle yourself, and some mechanical problems aren’t obvious to an untrained buyer. Having the vehicle independently inspected before payment can give you additional information about its condition and help you decide whether to proceed.
Why Choose BPC Auto Inspect?
Independent Inspection
The inspection is performed independently for the prospective buyer rather than as a sales inspection for the seller.
30+ Years of Automotive Experience
Craig Jones brings more than 30 years of automotive experience to the inspection process.
Mobile Convenience
When the location is suitable, the inspection is performed at the vehicle so you don’t need to organise transport to a workshop.
Detailed Digital Reporting
Your findings are documented in a digital report with photographs to help you understand the vehicle’s condition. You can also view a sample pre-purchase inspection report to see the type of information provided.
Practical Explanation
A report can contain a lot of technical information. The phone consultation allows you to discuss the important findings and understand what they could mean from a buyer’s perspective.
Buyer-Focused
The purpose of the inspection is simple:
Give you better information before you spend your money.
